Homeschooling

A viable option!
The recent rush to consider Homeschooling is compelling. As public schools continue to disregard parents’ rights by ignoring their requests, more families have made the decision to either send their children to a private school, or homeschool.

So Many Resources!
The resources available today are impressive. Thirty years ago resources were very limited, compared to now. Curriculums are varied from handwriting to foreign languages, history to advanced mathematics and science. Your ability to achieve results is only limited by your imagination. What’s the law in my state?
A simple internet search will reveal the myriad of resources! First, investigate state laws pertaining to homeschooling. There may be requirements for age, testing, and formal notification.

Oregon Christian Home Education Association Network (OCEANetwork) - is not-for-profit organization equipping homeschool families, and protecting homeschool freedoms since 1986. We are volunteers supporting families all over Oregon and SW Washington with workshops, conferences, and written materials. We protect the rights of families by monitoring legislative and congressional actions.

Home School Legal Defense Association (HSLDA) - Nonprofit advocacy organization established to defend and advance the constitutional right of parents to direct the upbringing and education of their children and to protect family freedoms. Cathy Duffy Reviews - Known as a curriculum specialist, Cathy Duffy is author of the two-volume Christian Home Educators' Curriculum Manual (Elementary Grades and Junior/Senior High), addressing curriculum and methodology for all subjects and all grade levels. As the curriculum universe grew to be too immense for most homeschoolers to navigate, Cathy narrowed her recommendations down to the 100 Top Picks for Homeschool Curriculum (published by Broadman & Holman in February 2005). Cathy's books shift into the digital age with How to Choose Home School Curriculum to be used along with the advanced search feature on this website.
